The original 3D-printed drag paddle

Own the Track

Race-bred paddle tires engineered for soft sand and dirt. Proven by racers, tuned for your build, and trusted on record-breaking passes.

Built differently

Traction you can tune.

A balanced, reinforced tire body controls expansion and reduces wheel hop. The locking rim design eliminates glue and lets racers change tires, widths, heights, and paddle setups as track conditions evolve.

One track. Six weapons.

Every build reacts differently. Start with scale, then match the paddle to the sand or dirt beneath it.

Light, loose sand

10 Paddle OG

The original straight paddle. Best for light, beach-style sand where immediate bite and a clean launch matter.

Damp / hard pack

SwitchBlade

A split paddle for harder, damp sand. Converts to a straight paddle and works up front when you need steering bite without excessive traction.

All-around race

12 Paddle

A smoother-launching, higher-RPM setup that hooks farther down track and is easier on the drivetrain.

Dirt / hard pack

Shredder

The ultimate traction searcher. Configure it as full shred, split paddle, or straight paddle to attack changing dirt and hard-pack surfaces.

Front stability

Blade Front

For 2WD and 4WD cars that need to stay straight. Just enough bite to guide the car without overpowering it into oversteer.

Maximum race edge

Pro Light

For racers chasing every advantage. Reduced rotating weight delivers the same traction with faster spool-up and less strain on the drivetrain.

Fine-tune the hit

Height. Width. Bite.

Short and tall tire options change rollout and response. Width adds or removes traction. When off-the-shelf is not enough, AKRC can build a custom size around the car.

Short or Tall

Tune rollout, RPM, and how aggressively the tire loads the drivetrain.

02

Narrow or Wide

Choose less bite for wheel speed or a larger footprint for maximum traction.

03

Custom Built

The ultimate setup: a tire sized for your chassis, power, surface, and race program.

Fitment & FAQ

Choose with confidence.

Still unsure? Send the car model, wheel hex, current tire diameter and width, and the surface you race on.

What size fits my RC car?

Begin with the scale family—1/16, 1/10, 1/8, or 1/5—then match the wheel hex, diameter, width, suspension clearance, and gearing. Product pages list the available configurations; custom sizing is available when a standard option is not ideal.

Which paddle is best for loose beach-style sand?

The standard straight 10 Paddle OG is the first choice for light, loose sand. It provides immediate bite and is the original AKRC sand-drag setup.

When should I choose a SwitchBlade?

Choose the split-paddle SwitchBlade for damp sand and harder pack. It can also be converted to a straight paddle or used up front when steering needs some bite without creating oversteer.

Why choose a 12-paddle tire?

The 12-paddle is a strong all-around race choice. It launches smoothly, builds traction later down track, favors higher RPM, and is easier on drivetrain components.

What is the SandShredder for?

The SandShredder is designed to search for traction on dirt and hard pack. Its tunable layout converts from full shred to split paddle to straight paddle as the track changes.

Do I need Blade front tires?

Blade fronts help 2WD and 4WD cars track straight. They create enough bite to pull the front into line without overpowering the car and causing oversteer.

Why do products show as backordered?

AKRC tires are made to order for quality, color choice, and customization. Orders join the production queue when placed; typical turnaround is 7–10 days, with longer lead times possible during high demand.

Can AKRC make a custom tire size?

Yes. Custom diameter and width options are available for racers who need a specific rollout, footprint, clearance, or traction level.
